All Hail Kim Yu Na
My knowledge of figure skating is limited to the assumption that if you fall down, that's not a good thing. Yet when I watched Kim Yu Na take the gold medal, I was immediately aware of the fact that I was watching the best figure skater ever to slide on ice. Unlike other skaters performing that night, like Japan's Mao Asada, Kim didn't give me the feeling that she was one muscle movement away from disaster. Everything she did had such force, such confidence, behind it, that there was no doubting that she would execute it all perfectly. It's rare to see such a spectacular athleticism. Behold, the new queen of the world: Kim Yu Na.
